For those of you who know the Case Foundation, we’re bullish on the impact investing movement and the power of private capital for public good. While still a relatively small market, impact investments are surging, with some seeing a trillion-dollar market potential by 2020. Against that context, we do a lot of thinking about what is standing in the way of tipping significantly more interested investors to activated investors.
CECP Spearheads Corporate Involvement in Global Movement
New York, December 5, 2016 /3BL Media/ - One of the founding partners of the #GivingTuesday movement announced record levels of corporate support for the global philanthropy movement. According to CECP: The CEO Force for Good, the number in its overall coalition of the world’s largest companiesparticipating in #GivingTuesday 2016 was 82, the highest participation level seen yet. Begun in 2012, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
November 24, 2016 /3BL Media/ - Holland America Line President Orlando Ashford was honored by Bethune-Cookman University at the fourth annual Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Awards Gala in Daytona Beach, Florida, Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2016. Ashford, who received the Leadership Award, was recognized for his dedication and continuous contribution to education and the community.
This fall, Avista partnered with The Lands Council to plant trees for the 6th Annual Reforest Spokane Day. Over 400 volunteers planted 2,500 trees and native shrubs in west Spokane, downtown and along the Centennial Trail and Spokane River. Avista is proud to partner with The Lands Council on this wonderful community event and engage the community while enhancing the health of our natural resources.
Over 50% of employees at the Villa Rica, Sanofi’s factory in Colombia, live in the nearby town, one of the areas most affected by the armed conflict in Colombia, with attendant social problems such as drugs, prostitution and crime.
In 2014, Sanofi identified 41 employees living in vulnerable conditions. That’s the reason why, in order to develop greater social interaction with the community, the factory has launched the program Generation of Healthy Families.
